Hurricane Preparedness
Nature's unpredictability means that we will never know when our homes or communities will be at risk of a natural disaster. This has been especially evident over the past few hurricane seasons. However, by planning ahead, residents and businesses can minimize the dangers of storms by protecting lives and property and can significantly reduce the risk of loss of life and property. Planning and preventative action also help reduce the discomfort of recovery and the time required to return to "normal."
The University of Florida has done research and has provided information to help Emergency Management offices in Florida develop plans and give good direction to the public. Now, to help you get prepared before, during, and after the hurricane, this information is available here, straight from the source. For more information or specific answers, please call our office.
